M1 Garand

My favorite part is when the clip pops out of the top!

Prior to yesterday, the last time I discharged a firearm was at the tender age of 13, and it was a .22 rifle at Spring Hill Camp. Let's just say the M1 and AK47 were a different experience altogether.

This is my buddy Matt's M1 Garand rifle. He was generous enough to take me to a local firing range. Matt also taught me a lot about firearms, their history, and modern safety. My nephew AJ came along as well, mainly to embarras me with his superior shooting prowess and accuracy. It's like he wants to be a marine or something. Go figure.

Here is AJ showing me how's it's done with a .45 caliber 1911. All but one of these shots hits a seperate target at 25 yards. He hasn't shot that much more than me, so it's really natural ability.
