Ya, that's right, we're tough. You don't wanna step to this. We're talkin' calculator-watch tough. Home-Schooled rough, son.
To say I had a really great experience being home-schooled from the 1st-4th grades would be an astronomical understatement. Looking back, there are many things I enjoyed about school with Mom, Dad, Bryan, and Chris. I had my own desk, and it didn't change every class! School work wrapped up around noon every day. This meant many hours to explore all the interesting ways I could wipe-out spectacularly on my "Trail Master Trick Bike", attempting to impress neighborhood girls.
I can't remember ever having more FUN learning, than when my Dad would explain electrons to me, or my Mom would patiently wait to finally hear me sound out that big word(we were so proud of me!).
Becky and I are planning on home-schooling Rachel and Ari. I'm giddy(warning, girly word) with excitement to share those moments with my kids.
I have a friend who home schools his 53 children and they love it too. I think it would be neat to do, cuz they sez youze home skooled kidz r smarter thenz usenz publik skooled kidz.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if Heather takes over the wage-earning, I can home school Joshua.
Good for you!
>53...? was that a typo, Mike?! :-)
ReplyDeletecuz it seemz kinda amazin' that yr friend hom schulz that manyz kidzzz.
>well, cross my T's and dot my I's - that is like, waaay cool that you are gonna home school Rachel and Ari...!!!
>some of my most PRECIOUS parent moments were your learning moments, Tim. do you remember that when they tested you for reading when you started public school in the 5th grade you were reading at a 7th grade level...??? (MAJOR proud-parent moment, that was) :-)
love, Mom
Just wanted to give you a shout out from one home schooler to another - we have to stick together as there is much jealously amongst all the non-home schoolers because of our amazing smartness :)

Best. Typo. Ever.
ReplyDeleteTell you friend to give his wifes womb a rest!
I didn't remember that mom. I'll have to rub that in Chris' face next time I see him!
